There is often a a belief that when you educate children under the age of 5 that you aren’t a “real” teacher. And while a lot of people who think this way will at least keep it to themselves, it still is a FALSE BELIEF that exists. .
Someone once told me to my face, “You’re not a real teacher.” Not going to lie, it hurt and yes, I was a little offended because I knew what they said was far from the truth. .
But so what? .
Those people don’t understand child development like we do. They don’t understand the importance of brain development in the first five years of life like we do. They don’t understand the learning that takes place during play like we do. They don’t understand being timely with early intervention like we do. They don’t understand building social-emotional skills like we do.
They don’t know any better. .
But we do!
