#tuesdaysarefortoys 🧸 and today we’re moving on to the 6-9 month age range. At 6-months-old, babies can normally sit and manipulate objects with their hands, their movement patterns now more controlled. In this period, typically your baby will go from rolling over and sitting, to scooting, bouncing, creeping and possibly pulling themselves up and standing. The best toys for this age group which will help to aid development are:
✔️Baby blocks and nesting toys to build fine motor skills.
✔️Toys that roll away and make sounds when touched, as well as large balls, push and pull toys, and low, soft things to crawl over, to encourage creeping, crawling and movement: gross motor skills. ✔️From six months you can also look into activity tables, which are good for both fine and gross motor skills, as well as cause and effect and object permanence activities depending on which one you choose. We love the range of activity tables @leapfrog_uk 💚
If you have any concerns about your child and their development (ie developmental delay; not reaching milestones, late rolling, sitting or walking), we can help! If you’re in the London area or Surrey and Essex borders, get in touch for a chat. Even if you’re elsewhere in the world, message us and we’ll do our best to advise you how to move forward👍
